Earth Through Our Eyes
Ages 8-12
Dates:
Tuesday, 7 April – Friday, 10 April 2026
Times: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm each day
What if you could explore our planet through fresh eyes?
Do trees talk to each other through underground networks? Can you slide down rainbows or bounce on clouds? What if you could dig straight through the Earth and emerge on the other side?
Join us for an exciting school holiday workshop where curiosity leads the way. You’ll explore Earth’s wonders, discover new skills, and make friends in a safe, supportive environment. Together, we’ll investigate questions like: What would we find if we tunnelled through the Earth? Does the back of a rainbow look different from the front? Can trees really communicate underground? Was our planet once purple?
Bring your curiosity and discover your own questions as you explore our home planet from your unique perspective.
Led by Barking Gecko Teaching Artists, our workshops are process-driven, allowing children to express themselves and hone their skills in performance and theatre-making. With a strength-based approach, our Artists guide young performers in improvisation, movement, voice and devising, all while allowing the unique voices of each participant to be heard!
This workshop will utilise sustainable and ethical materials to promote environmentally responsible practices.

Whale of a Tale
Ages 8-12
Dates: Tuesday 14 July – Friday, 17 July 2026
Times: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm each day
Make a splash these July school holidays at Barking Gecko Arts' workshop, inspired by our upcoming production "Walk of the Whales".
Young creatives will dive deep into the mysteries of the ocean, learning drama skills and theatre-making techniques while exploring friendship, imagination, and the magic of storytelling. In a safe and supportive environment, participants will build connections, grow their confidence, and discover how small changes can make a big difference.
Based on Nick Bland's award-winning picture book and adapted by Gita Bezard, "Walk of the Whales" is a heartwarming story about cross-species friendship, standing up for what's right, and protecting the places we call home.
This workshop will utilise sustainable and ethical materials to promote environmentally responsible practices.
