Barking Gecko Road Co. is our Regional Workshop Program, which aims to provide consistency and equity of access to our creative learning programs for young people across Western Australia, regardless of geographic location.

COUNTDOWN! A SPACE ADVENTURE.

Calling all astronauts, aliens and adventurers! The countdown has begun, and we invite you to join us on an interstellar journey to a place where imagination knows no bounds and the cosmos is your playground!

Venture to distant planets, far off galaxies, brightly burning stars and mystical moons while channelling the wonders of outer space on a creative, theatrical and celestial adventure. Help us bring a cosmic tale to life as we explore storytelling and performance through improvisation, voice, movement, character and devising. 

Inspired by stories from Will Gater’s The Mysteries of the Universe, Tim Peake’s The Cosmic Diary Of Our Incredible Universe and Oliver Jeffers Here We Are, young creatives will develop their own characters and learn performance and theatre making skills whilst building their confidence and self-expression. Participants will share their creative discoveries with an informal showing for family and friends on the final day.

Led by Barking Gecko Theatre Teaching Artists Sky River and Amy Johnstone, your child will develop drama and performance-based skills through games, exercises, and creative explorations all while making fantastic new friendships in a fun, creative and inspiring environment.

Cost: $25
Normally $275 per participant, this highly subsidised rate is possible thanks to the support of the Peter and Elizabeth Moore Foundation.
