Get your creative juices flowing with Barking Gecko Theatre’s school holiday drama workshops! These fun-filled four day workshops are designed to fuel imaginations in a joyful, supportive environment during the holiday break.

MYTHS, LEGENDS AND TALES OF OLD

Join us as we explore captivating narratives that transcend time and culture. Rich tapestries that weave together elements of the mystical, supernatural and the heroic. Gods and titans, heroes and villains, monsters and magical realms - bravely enter the world of myths, legends and ancient tales where we explore a treasure trove of incredible stories from long ago. Create your own mythical creature and explore characters and storytelling from a world completely different to your own. These stories will inspire wonder and fascination, reminding us of the enduring power of storytelling in our collective human experience.

Exploring improvisation, movement and devising, young creatives will develop their own characters and learn performance and theatre making skills while building their storytelling telling techniques. Participants will share their creative discoveries with an informal showing for family and friends on the final day.

Led by Barking Gecko Senior Teaching Artist Michelle Hall, your child will develop drama and performance-based skills through games, exercises, and creative explorations all while making fantastic new friendships in a fun, creative and inspiring environment.

Enrolments for our 2024 January School Holiday Workshop will open in December 2023.
